My Battle Against Rosacea - A Cure For Styes

Like many suffers of the classic rosacea symptoms such as flushing and redness around the central part of the face I was not diagnosed as having rosacea until my early thirties although I know that it must have started along time before that. Probably in my teenage years.

By my early thirties my rosacea was causing me a great deal of pain. Not physically (although the redness was quite sore at times) but mentally. I was consciously aware of my red face 24/7. The redness would appear on my cheeks and nose and last for several weeks at a time. I do not know why I suffer from rosacea but I guess I have the obvious traits of most sufferers. I live in the western world (in the UK) and have fair skin. It is estimated that around 1 in 10 people have rosacea although many do not even realise it. In the USA alone, there are believed to be 13 million sufferers.

As well as the redness on the central part of my face, I also had another flare up linked to my rosacea that affected my eye. This aspect of rosacea is less common. Whenever I got a bad bout of rosacea one of my eyelids would swell up and a couple of days later a stye would appear. This would become very sore and extremely unsightly. Initially I tried using a cream purchased from the chemist to reduce the swelling and remove the stye but eventually I found a natural and far less costly way to rid me of this rosacea symptom.

Firstly place a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda into a cup and add 3 tablespoons of boiling water. The mixture will fizz up and you will need to stir it thoroughly. Allow it to cool (but only slightly) Then use a clean flannel and to soak up some of the mixture. Then place the wet flannel on the stye. Obviously it will feel hot but you will soon get used to it. Repeat this process up to 6 times.

After about 20 minutes the stye will start to dry up and turn a white colour. Also a white residue will probably appear around your eye (as a result of the bicarbonate of soda) which can be easily washed off. You may have to repeat this simple method the following day but I find that this gets rid of my rosacea related stye problem 100% guaranteed.
